Triple Berry Sweet Roll Recipe

Examine this little beauty and watch how you unwind starting with the outside edge and working into the center.

Who doesn’t love a sweet roll? Normally you think of them with Cinnamon and Raisins. Let’s just go one step further and replace that with a Berry Cream Filling. Yummy!

Using frozen berries helps keep them from smashing.

I’m just a little bit curious to see if anyone really knows the right way to eat a sweet roll?

Triple Berry Sweet Roll Recipe

In small bowl add yeast to warm water. Temp should be like babies milk. Set aside.

In large Stand Mixer add sugar, salt, shortening and eggs. Mix well.

Warm milk in microwave until temperature like babies milk. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well.

Add half of flour to creamed mixture. Mix until lumps gone.

Add dough enhancer and yeast mixture. Mix well again.

Add remainder of flour. Just a little at a time with mixer on low setting.

Add flour until dough starts to come away from the bowl. Mix for about 10 minutes on low speed.

Let dough rise covered with cloth until double in size. About 45 minutes.

Roll out dough to about 1/2″

In mixing bowl add cream cheese, sugar, cornstarch and egg. Mix with hand mixer until smooth.

Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over rolled out sweet dough.

In medium mixing bowl add sugar, cornstarch, and punch powder.

Whisk add berries and lemon juice. Fold gently to coat all the berries.

Top cream cheese with berry mixture. Roll up.

Cut with floss or thread and put on large cookie sheet.

Cover and let rise double 60 – 90 minutes.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 15- 20 minutes. If you have a quick read digital Thermometer when center reads 195 degrees.

Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.

Sweet Roll Dough Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Warm Water
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons Dry Active Yeast
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 cup Crisco Shortening
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 6-7 cups All-Purpose Flour

Sweet Roll Dough Recipe (Optional)

  • 1/4 cup Dough Enhancer (Makes Dough Fluffier)

Cream Filling Recipe

  • 4oz Cream Cheese (Softened)
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornaby’s Ultra Gel or Corn Starch
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

  • 3/4 cups Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Cornaby’s Ultra Gel or Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Berry Punch Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 - 3 cups Frozen Triple Berries
